– Hey guys, Michael Gallini here at EurAuto Shop in Plano, Texas. Today, we had a customer come in for an oil change and, lo and behold, we found something. I feel this is something super important to show you what it comes down to quality and something that I preach big time to all of you guys as well to my technicians and whatnot. And this was brought to my attention and I felt like this would be a perfect video to do. So what I’m going to do is I’m going to turn the camera around. Everybody say hi to Jonathan. Hi, Jonathan. Uh-oh, what do you guys see there? I’m going to show you the difference between a cheap oil filter,

– I’m just going to say a cheap oil filter – and a quality filter. And when I say quality filter, it is an OEM. It’s an OEM filter. So let me turn this thing around here, and I’m going to show you guys. So as you can see, this is the BMW N55 motor, super common. We see them all the time. Here are the two filters, and just look at the quality behind this. As you can see on this cheaper filter right here, you can see that it started, whoa. It’s trying to run from me now. It’s grown legs. You can see that it has started to collapse. A lot of this comes down to the height difference in it, the way that it sits in the cap. This right here is a factory BMW filter, the best that there is, the absolute best that there is. I can assure you with running this filter, the filtration that you’re getting as far as debris goes and whatnot is going to be 100 times better than this. I mean, just look at that. I mean, it’s kind of sad in a way. You look at how thick the filter is compared to this one. Anyways, I just wanted to give you guys kind of a quick rundown, show you the, sort of the ins and the outs of the things that we deal with on a daily basis. And like I said, I can’t stress enough how important oil changes are, and not just oil changes but quality of oil filters. Yeah, you may be able to go somewhere and get a cheaper oil change per se, but is it worth it? I guess that’s kind of the question you’ve got to ask yourself.
